Jessica is currently attending the University of Georgia. She is majoring in Animal Science and hopes to attend UGA's College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been with us since September of 2015. She enjoys working at the clinic because of the valuable hands-on experience and the uplifting atmosphere COAC provides.

A California native, Dr. Jo Anne Mathias has resided in the Athens area for over 28 years and has adopted the ways of the south as her own. Dr. Mathias moved to Georgia in 1989 to attend the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.  She obtained her DVM in 1993 and chose to remain in the Clarke/Oconee county area to raise her family and work as a mixed animal practitioner. Central Oconee Animal Clinic opened its doors in 2010.

Biscuit decided to make the clinic her home in 2013. She keeps a watch on our building when we are not here as well as watches the door during business hours!  In her spare time she loves lounging in the foyer or enjoying the day outside!

Tim joined our practice in the Spring of 2014. Tim wants to one day have a career in a Zoological facility as an animal handler/keeper. While we encourage Tim's advancement, we are hopeful he will stay a member of our team for a while. He has been an excellent addition to our practice.

Katie comes to us from John's Creek, GA. She is currently attending the University of Georgia with a double major in Biochemistry and Animal Biology. Katie aspires to be a small and exotic animal veterinarian someday. She is a great addition to our team.

Courtney is currently attending the University of Georgia as a Wildlife/Pre-vet medicine major. Courtney comes to us from Lawrenceville, GA. She has been with us since May 2015. She aspires to be a Wildlife Educator, teaching people about the importance of conservation.

Darien comes from Rome, GA where he attended Georgia Highlands College. After receiving his Associate’s degree in Biology, he transferred to the University of Georgia where he is currently working to earn his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Darien joined our team in March of 2016 and we look forward to seeing him succeed in all of his future endeavors.

Katy is attending the University of Georgia as an Animal Science major. Katy comes to us from Warner Robins, GA. She has been with us since September 2015. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering for the Guide Dog Foundation. Through the program, she got her current dog, Durango, who is a guide dog drop out. Even though he is not someone's hero as originally intended, he is now her trusted sidekick.

Anna originates from Forsyth, GA. She began working as a Veterinary Technician at the age of 15. Anna joined our team in January of 2016. Anna recently graduated (Cum Laude) from the University of Georgia. She has a Bachelors in Animal Science and Biological Science and has been accepted into UGA's College of Veterinary Medicine. We couldn't be prouder of all she's accomplished and look forward to her bright future in veterinary medicine.
